Aurora

Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is an Norwegian song writer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well welcomed by blogs about music. She has recorded several high-profile covers, such as Half the World Away (by Oasis), from the group Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole), which are widely loved. Katy Perry, who endorsed the song Runaway with her voice, gave her the track a little more attention. Enjoy the celebration of this special event. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering a piano hidden in her attic, and becoming fascinated with the sounds it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents, May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to take up music more as a hobby than a profession. They advised her to compose. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in her influences, along with an affinity for Bjork's style. Responding to her mother's suggestions that she should not be aiming to become famous with the songs she writes, but rather realize the importance of themselves and their impact on society. When she was six She began playing the piano and at nine was writing music. She didn't tell her family about her music until she reached fourteen. Aurora wasn't a childhood dream. As she says, she simply likes to write songs. She believes that music is the only method of feeling anything.
